There the drift of the discussion is a bit different than the one here. I'd think that if we're gonna have surround sound, then the mics have got to surround the source! Has anyone here heard the Cooper-Bauck Transaural Stereo demo? They use DSP to decorrelate L & R of conventional 60 degree stereo speakers and play a binaural signal -- gives a pretty convincing soundfield wider than 60 degrees, but it's all out in front ... no behind or above or inside your head. -- Mike ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ |
