One interesting test of a sample rate converter is to sample align the
original waveform and the converted waveform on two tracks of a DAW and
invert the phase of one of the tracks and create a mix.  The resulting file
shows the artifacts of the conversion process and may help with the
evaluation of any conversion software.  Along with frequency based
anomalies, there are often temporal displacements as well.
