The latest from my front is we are out beating bushes for cricket frogs.
A big genetic study on them was given some samples from some Northern
Cricket Frogs from one location here. Well, the genetics came back that
these frogs had different genetics from either species, even though they
called like typical Northern Cricket Frogs and looked like them. So, we
are trying to find cricket frogs offseason in surrounding areas to do
more checking what's going on.

It's pretty standard for biologists to never retire. We certainly did
not get into the field for rich pay. Most of us got in because we like
what we are doing.

I've been to many parts of that path, but never followed it like that. I
envy you Bernie.

For anyone wanting to do this, just go to:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/naturerecordists/
You may have to log in.

Then click on edit my membership in the top right area of the page. Set
message delivery as appropriate. No email will turn off all messages and
you will have to use their webpages to catch up when you get back.
Another option is to set to Daily digest. Then one email a day will be
sent to your email address and it will contain all the posts of the day.
Then when you get back you will have them handy to read.

Note if you set to digest and then want to respond to one of the
messages you will need to cut down any automatic quote or the entire
digest will be quoted. Makes it awkward for everyone to read your
response and increases the download time for everyone.
