Of course Dolby can make problems when recorders aren't carefully aligned, but if Cornell had promulgated useful information about it, like "be sure to have your cassette machine aligned and calibrated by a specialist, and use only the tape stock it's calibrated for," they would have fulfilled the educational role that they have assumed.
