Koels in our trees briefly this morning. Frogmouth
family again in E. nichollii over Boobialla st footpath (can only see three of
them, but have not had time to look carefully for the other).
Of the 20+ times I have seen them in our garden
over the past six months they have either been in the nichollii or a casuarinas
(and briefly one morning in December, a parent & offspring in a
neighbour's liquid amber) - in quite exposed positions, but those are
the two trees with bark that is most similar to their plumage. I do not know
where they are when not at our place - do they have several 'home'
roosts?
cheers
Barbara
