Cotton Pygmy-goose (pair) Bush-hen (1) channel between main and island, early.

Sat 27 Oct Spotted Harrier, Cicadabird Townsville Town Common Conservation Park
Spotted Harrier (1) along freshwater bund wall and around bald rock Cicadabird (1) male in tree just inside gate.

Mon 22 Oct Buff-breasted Paradise Kingfisher Stewart Creek Rd, Daintree
First sighting for this breeding season. Very good looks!

Sun 21 Oct Long-tailed Honey Buzzard Dauan Island
On Saturday the 20 October our group photographed a Long-tailed Honey Buzzard AKA Long-tailed Buzzard or Papuan Honey Buzzard (Henicopernis longicauda) soaring over the hillside on Dauan Island in the Northern Torres Strait. Long-tailed Honey Buzzard is a widespread and common resident through out coastal PNG and adjacent island, thus it's not surprising that it should appear on Dauan which is only 5 km from the PNG coastline. BARC sub-forthcoming. First Australian record.

A good morning on Hurricane Station Road with Banded Honeyeater, nesting Black-throated Finch and Red-backed Kingfisher.
