Blue-faced Parrot-Finch Mt Lewis
This morning there were two birds at the clearing on Mt Lewis, quite a bit earlier than usual. (Moderator, one BFPF reported from here a week ago).
Nick Leseberg

Wed 17 Oct Red-kneed Dotterel Brady Road Swamp, Mareeba
3 birds first seen by Murray Hunt on Sat 13 Oct and seen and photographed by me today
Doug Herrington

Pectoral Sandpiper Brady Road Swamp, Mareeba
Pectoral Sandpiper (Moderator:: Looks good for pectoral, bill about half yellow, legs yellow, lack of defined chestnut crown. breast demarcation not clear in photo - any comments welcome)
Doug Herrington

Mon 15 Oct Pectoral Sandpiper Tinnaburra, Lake Tinaroo
Seen just north of Tinaburra boat ramp at about 5pm, moved to shoreline on eastern side of peninsula later (below boat shed). Note clean pectoral band, bright ochre yellow legs and base of bill, diagnostic burry call heard in flight.
John Grant

Great-billed Heron Centenary Lakes, Cairns
One bird seen on the island in the middle of the saltwater lake this afternoon. (Cairns Botanic Gardens).
Nick Leseberg

Satin Flycatcher Saddle Mountain Road area Kuranda
Single male bird turned up early this morning, hawked in trees above house for an hour. Not recorded since moving here in July. Probably moving through? (moderator: Attached photo certainly shows the down curved demarcation line typical of Satin Flycatcher, upturned in Leaden).
Phil Venables, Helen Hamley

Sat 13 Oct White-throated Needletail McLeod River north of Mt. Carbine
16°30'02'S 145°00'11'E McLeod River Crossing. 100+ birds flying south in a straight line before circling over the river. Interesting that they were in an organised corridor formation rather than randomly scattered over a large area.

Mon 8 Oct Satin Flycatcher Upper Bohle River off Palamino Place, Kelso, Townsville
A single female Satin Flycatcher (and a pair next day on 9 Oct) was feeding along riparian vegetation. Unusual sighting in Townsville, presumably a late migrant heading south. Also present male Cicadabird, two Black-faced Monarchs and two Rufous Fantails along with both Trillers.
Peter Valentine
