Birdline Northern Territory

Published sightings for the week ending 28 Oct 2012.

Sun 28 Oct Pink-eared Duck,Yellow Wagtail, Mangrove Golden Whistler Leanyer Sewage Works.
Six Pink-eared Duck, one Mangrove Golden Whistler and two Yellow Wagtails at Lenyear today at 2pm.

Tue 23 Oct Scarlet-chested Parrot Maryvale Station 24 48S 133 52E 1' Cell
Scarlet-chested Parrot (1) Single male bird. As the lead car was driving along, flocks of between 50 and 100 Budgerigars were flushing from Ironwoods beside the track. When one flock flushed, I had clear views of a brilliant male Scarlet-chested Parrot. It's likely that there may have been female or immature birds as well but I only identified the single male.

At 18:00 a Brown Booby was working the water just beyond the reef.

Flock Bronzewing (1) Finke Poo Ponds. Lone bird, seen very late afternoon.

Three adults foraging on opposite bank at low tide , 18:00, Observed from boatramp for thirty minutes.

Sun 21 Oct Brown Booby Buffalo Creek
Brown Booby (1) Single bird (being accosted by Whistling Kite). Flying over coastal vegetation and beach. Circled for a couple of minutes and flew off over toward Lee Point. leucogaster (1)
