Went birding late this afternoon at Mt Kembla Wollongong and the noise of the cicadas was so loud that I was unable to hear any birds, and the only birds I observed were in areas away from the cicadas. Also a large number of Grey and Rufous Fantails are around the Wollongong area at the moment.
