Some milk bottles also have a red ring, but much bigger, of course.

I'm wondering where the most likely place is for birds to find these rings.
Discarded on the street, or at tips?

I've been cutting all mine, on the assumption that my rubbish will be rumaged
through at the tip by seagulls, ibis and pelicans. I'd appreciate it if they
at least put a little nick in them so I can break them by hand without having
to find scissors.
