Good Morning birders,

A couple or three years ago, I saw my first pair of crested pigeons in the
local park in Bulleen where I live. These have been periodic visitors since
but never more than 2. Last week, there were at least 11 feeding on the soccer
oval. This week I counted well over 50 birds on the same oval. Next day on a
nature strip in our street there were 5 feeding. Has anyone else noticed such
a surge in numbers of these invaders from the north? In this area at least,
they seem to be displacing the introduced turtle-necked dove which isn't a bad
thing, I guess.

Cheers,

Fiona
