Hi all, Bill here A few of us were at Gama in North Western Victoria on the weekend. The small block on the corner of the Sunraysia Highway and the Gama Sea Lake Road is a good place (I understand) for black honeyeater. However, we were unable to make any observations as we were under pretty immediate threat by a large fire. The fire is known as the Wathe Reserve Road fire, and was situated on the Western (ie other) side of the railway and highway, but was moving eastwards directly towards the block. The CFA website has the status of the fire as large and still going - does anyone know of the fate of this birding hotspot (and I use the term advisedly)? ==============================www.birding-aus.org birding-aus.blogspot.com To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: ============================= |
