Blackbirds in central western NSW

Mick,

I was interested in your mention of Blackbirds in the Hunter Region. About a 
month ago I was watching Lenaghan's Wetland from near the house at the top 
of the hill when a bird flew across in front of me about 80 meters away. I 
had the binos in hand at the time and noted " black plumage, yellow bill". I 
was sceptical of my initial ID as I had never seen one around Sydney where I 
live, or anywhere else in NSW. I lived in Melbourne for 9 years and 
Blackbirds were an almost daily visitor to our garden. Size and body shape 
were right and the colour was too black to be a Common Mynah or Common 
Starling. I was there for another hour at least but it did not appear again. 
I put it down as a possible for the day and went back to watching ducks.
