Hi Birding-ausers,
Thank you to those who replied to give more
information.
My visiting birder David Bakewell had a high
expectation. We first thought about Capertee Valley
but ended up with Centennial Park, Penrhyn Estuary and
Barren Ground in one day.
Centennial Park
The Lachlan Swamp proved to be a reliable spot for
Tawny Frogmouth. However, we had to rely on a local
who showed us exactly where 2 birds were roosting. One
was having a 3 weeks chick according to the man who
showed us.
Penrhyn Estuary
10+ RN Stints, 30+ Bar-tailed Godwits, Crested Tern,
an adult Kelp Gull and a lone White-fronted Tern. The
WF Tern has its lower mandible slightly broken. A
Silver Gull has a deformed bill where a tongue-like
object sticking out from its lower mandible and it has
lost its right foot. (Photo available for anyone who
is interested)

Barren Grounds Nature Reserve
Manage to see Eastern Bristlebird although more
skittish than they used to be 2 years ago.
Other highlights are:-
A Wedged-tailed Eagle on thermal.
Fleeting view of Collared Sparrowhawk.
At the car park, there were 2 White-browed Scribwrens
that had metal leg band. Dave took the photo and might
be able to read the numbers on the tiny band later on.
