Thankyou to all contributions - Val, Elizabeth, Jon.

I look forward to showing my overseas-based in-laws their first Hooded Plovers, and I'm grateful to be reminded of their predicament in trying to breed, let alone raise chicks.

The beach in Portland (VIC), Nun's Beach (just below town centre, near harbour mole), is so public that I can't really see any scheme being suitable there, sad to say. Perhaps the birds will move out on their own accord? I'll nevertheless ask the question of someone down there. H.P.'s are seen further east at Narrawong, and perhaps they breed successfully there?

Cheers,
Peter Madvig
