Just so people know what this is about, with thanks to the
ABC:
Yesterday the Administrative Appeals Tribunal has granted
an interim order preventing the transportation of eight asian elephants to
Australia until at least next week. The Human Society, and other animal welfare
groups, sought the order because they believe it is in the best interests of the
elephants to remain in Thailand.
This was after, On Wednesday Environment Minister
Ian Campbell approved the importation of the animals to Sydney's Taronga Park
Zoo and the Melbourne Zoo..
Animal rights groups will return to the tribunal next
Thursday, seeking an extension on the order until a full review of the
Minister's decision takes place.

PS I don't know how the Zoos' money could be switched
to conservation in Thailand.
