Well I'll throw in another option. I recently upgraded to Nikon 10x42 DCF Monarch and I would love to look through the aforementioned prestige brands because the Nikons are superb and far less expensive. Very easy on the eyes and forgiving of eye position. Don't know about the X factor value but they look OK :-)

Thanks to all who responded so far.....looks like I may have overlooked the Zeiss. Apparently they just released a new series in December - I'll check this out as well and let you all know. I tried the Swarovski and Leicas today and I reckon its a coin toss. The Leica's do however suffer from what I think is called exit pupil abheration or "kidney bean" effect - where you see dark patches if your pupils aren't aligned straight on to the exit lenses - the Swarovskis didn't.

Anyone tried the new Zeiss yet?

Cheers
Simon
