Yes, while crossing the Gibb River Road we flushed 2 from one tree even though we were about 30 M from them but walking towards them. The tree was only 30 M off the road but in sparsely treed country which may make them feel more insecure.

As he was not a birdo and every previous tawny frogmouth that I had ever seen sat tight as can be, I didn't believe him and assumed that he was confusing the bird with a boobook. However on three occassions over the rest of the walk, I saw tawny frogmouths flush from trees, that we were sitting by or I was walking towards.

Has anyone else ever had experiences with flushing tawny frogmouths?
