It has been my experience - though completely untested in any systematic
fashion - that Owlet-nightjars flush much more readily from tree hollows
in places where tree-climbing goannas (/Varanus /spp.) commonly occur.
Perhaps some of these frogmouths have ID problems when it comes to
humans and goannas :-)
