Hi all An extract from my comments to Peter: - recognise all sorts of interests in birds: beauty, behaviour, identification, habitat/food, role of birds in the ecosystem (insect control...) etc. The twitcher is very strong in me, but my head says it is far better to work to conserve a few species and their habitat than to be able to identify that unusual bird which may be a lifer.
