Frank O'Connor Wrote: "Most new specimens for the museum come from people who find dead birds in reasonable condition, or birds that die in care. e.g. seabirds, road kills, Oriental Honey-Buzzard, etc. I have taken quite a few specimens to the museum, and I encourage others to do this, no matter how common the species. " I believe this would be a good point to include in carer training, that are being trained to look after injured wildlife. I found a Barn Owl with a broken wing a couple of months back, and it died the night i found it in the carers house. They buried the corpse the next day. A pity. It would have made a perfect museum specimen.
