The other thing is, you can't get the cat back into the

bag so you might as well do the best as can be done for
the wild-bird feeding public because people aren't going
to stop. Plus of course birds do not die if you quit
feeding them that's why they have wings.
If a bird is SO very dependent on your food alone then
there is something really wrong with it and thee area
in which the bird resides, when it was found in
 this
condition?
