One of the worst weeds that blackbirds spread is Briar Rose, which has invaded some of our best bushland. A neighbour has a plant of the very similar Dog Rose. The Blackbirds relish the fruit, and the seedlings come up in my garden by the hundred. I am seeing the birds nearly everywhere I Atlas, well out into the bush, and remote from human habitation. By the way Lawrie, I'll be going for four and twenty this season! Duncan Fraser.
