This has been my experience with a pair that have appeared here in
spring for the past 2 or 3 years. I rarely see the female and the male
only when he's doing his (gorgeous) territorial singing. They commute
between our vestigial garden and the redgum-lined banks of our River
Murray lagoon. Across the river, in orange orchards, they are quite
common but don't seem to be much of a problem in that situation.
