Blackbirds.
I hadn't intended getting drawn into this thread but I guess I'll have my
two bob's worth.
Certainly Oz would be better off without them, and much as we may rue the
day Blackies were introduced, probably by some well meaning but ignorant
pom, surely they are now so widespread as to be ineradicable.
In light of that mightn't we just as well stop whinging about them, see
them for the beautifully dressed bird they are, listen to their delightful
song, and get on with other things?
Sure, the gardening-righteous find they make bit of litter on our
pseudo-sacred garden paths but then so do many other native birds and
animals, and as someone else said today, you should try a Brush Turkey!
And try having possums in your roof !!##** The message they send through
your ceiling is far worse than what a Blackie does in your garden.
