You don't, use GCC. IAR atleast in my experience is suited to building
stand alone apps, no OS. Besides, what does IAR offer that GCC can't do
in a Linux environment? Also, being a total novice with Linux trying to
use some third-party compiler instead of the tried and true standard
compilers used for building the entire system probably isn't a toe in
the water experience, that's more like jumping off a boat in the middle
of the Atlantic with a rock tied to your leg.
