PPP options file, but I don't know what file to modify to tell kernel
to load this new PPP options file. Any idea ?

There will be no ethernet port (/dev/eth[x]), instead there will be a
/dev/ppp0.

'man wvdial' and 'man pppd' on any desktop distro should help.

Also this How-to:
http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/PPP-HOWTO/index.html
It's quite old, but has very good info about setting up,
trouble-shooting and automating a ppp connection.
