Uh-oh. I hope I didn't remember this wrong.
As I was typing my last message, I looked over at the board,
and my 10-pin female header connector was plugged into the COM3
header. The #1 connector of my Y-cable was plugged into the CMUcam2+,
and I was able to talk with the cam with kermit on ttts4. So if I
counted backward properly, ttts2 and 3 should be on COM2. So...time to
pull up the manual and the schematic as I prepare to watch _Doctor Who_.
OK, I just pulled up the schematic, and I see I was wrong. Pins 2 and
3 of the COM2 header are for port COM2. I was thinking of the COM1
header, which has ttts0 and ttts1. Meanwhile, /dev/ttts2 and 3 on the
COM2 header are RS-485, not 232. Not compatible -- 485 uses a balanced
signal.
Oh well, this is what I get for relying on my memory. :-)
