Please see Jesse's post(msg# 11180), he has a simple solution that
will disable busybox's awk implementation. If you are interested how
this works open busybox with a hex editor(e.g. hexedit) and look at
the modified data.

Or you can just ask where the source and .config is ;) You can
download the source code here
ftp://ftp.embeddedarm.com/ts-arm-sbc/ts-7200-linux/sources/busybox-1.00-rc2.tgz
The .config file is in the top level directory.

When compiling open source software and the build process fails, it is
a good idea to ask what toolchain or version of gcc you should be
using... We used gcc 3.4.4 to build busybox, you can download the
toolchain we used to build busybox with here
ftp://ftp.embeddedarm.com/ts-arm-sbc/ts-7200-linux/cross-toolchains/crosstool-linux-gcc-3.4.4-glibc-2.3.2.tar.gz

No, the kernel has nothing to do with your build problems. More than
likely the problem is you are using the wrong version of gcc.

Please see my answers above.

To expand on Jesse's most recent post... The best way to receive
support from Technologic Systems is to directly contact Technologic
Systems. You can call in and speak to someone(480-837-5200) or send an
email to support at support_AT_embeddedarm.com. Posting to a public
forum and criticizing Technologic Systems is not the proper way to
contact Technologic Systems support staff. Feel free to CC support on
any emails on this forum if you are having difficulty, but we would
really appreciate it if you could try to keep the FUD down. We work
very hard at Technologic Systems to provide good support, and we pride
ourselves on being able to help our customers solve any problems they
may run into. Although please keep in mind Technologic Systems is a
small company and we do not have the resources to solve everyones
problems with our free tech support. As a result our free tech support
is for our hardware(although as you see on this list in some cases we
provide free support for software not written or modified by
Technologic Systems) .

I've seen other posters on this list criticize Technologic Systems
for not solving all of there problems, such as fixing bugs in the
vanilla 2.4.26 kernel or making the process of compiling modules less
complicated. To those users, please keep in mind Technologic Systems
is a hardware company. We are able to sell our hardware at such low
prices because we use open source software(most all of the software is
free, thanks to the open source community). It would be great if we
could fix all of the bugs in the vanilla 2.4.26 kernel, rewrite gcc so
it is easier to use, and solve all of the worlds problems, but we
would probably have to raise our prices if we solved all of these
issues unrelated to Technologic Systems ;)

I was talking to Jesse the other day and he was telling me about a
similiar issue on another mailing list where a customer was
criticizing a company saying they didn't support one of there products
. The owner responded to his post with a simple one sentence answer.

"We do support our customers, believe me just call us."
