[ts-7000] Bootload freezes on TS 7300

Hello,

I am trying to use bootload on TS 7300 to load a realtime kernel. I followed 
the instructions
from the website but every time the system freezes:

http://www.embeddedarm.com/software/arm-linux-bootloader.php

I downloaded the vmlinux-7300-ts11-rt.bin kernel from ftp.embeddedarm.com and
installed the kernel modules from tskernelmodules-2.4.26-ts11-rt.tar.gz to 
/lib/modules.

I also tried booting with a symbolic link from /vmlinux.bin -> 
vmlinux-7300-ts11-rt.bin but
the default kernel got loaded instead.

I am puzzled. If possible I would prefer not having to compile my own kernel.

If anybody here can give me some pointers to possible solutions I would be very 
thankful.
