I fixed the compiler issue in /usr/src/linux/Makefile by unsetting
CROSS_COMPLIER

But ncurses package reported by dpkg is unknown to apt-get.

apt-get is correctly configured and has installed other pkgs:
eg. apt-get install libjpeg62

:linux# apt-get install ncurses
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
Package ncurses is not available, but is referred to by another
package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
E: Package ncurses has no installation candidate

So ncurses is not in debian arm ??

I must be misreading this.

Thanks if anyone can put me straight.
