not out of the box,

but if you download the kernel source apply the squashfs patches for
2.4.26 it works fine.

we use squashfs for our project, it allows us to store the entire rootfs
in a single (squashfs) file
which is mounted as a loopback device by the initrd and then pivoted. 
This allows us to replace the
entire rootfs easily by just uploading a new image file, works well :)
