Hi all, EM172 and other capsules with PIP powering are a great resource for building both specialized and general purpose microphones. I some cases it would be useful to have a high pass filter to limit low frequency noise, e.g. generated by breeze or wind. I would ask to those more expert than me in electronics if it is possible to insert a simple HP filter in between the capsule and the recorder input, eventually also considering to replace the PIP from recorder with a dedicated battery.
