y too low.=A0 The voice was basically the same level as the noise floor.=A0=
Had it been 24 bit, and not 16 bit, fewer of the voices (the talk) would h=
ave dropped out when the noise was mostly filtered away and the speaker got=
too soft.=A0 By compression I mean that you can play it safer with levels =
and amplify in post, then convert.=A0 I know, not true compression.=A0 Most=
ly that when you amplify 16 bit via bit rotation, you're missing data for a=
ll intents on the bottom bit.=A0 With 24 bit you can shift it (amplify) and=
still have some data in that bottom bit when converted to 16 bit from 24 b=
it.=A0 It is mostly moot in terms of playback.=A0 But editing wise, 16 bit =
is horrid.
