Good question. I have been having problems with my cheap 3.5mm connectors f=
rom local electronics stores. The metal connectors inside tend to bend eas=
ily when the cable is moved around much and causes shorts. I have tried to=
used wire insulators to alleviate this with a little success. But am inter=
ested in more durable connectors too.

Does that explain the pricing variations? Are they all as good?
