Have you taken a look at the info at Rob Danielson's site here:

He compares 5 different types of microphones.

Subject: [Nature Recordists] Mic capsules question: rapid 35-0190 vs Panaso=
nic WM-61A

=A0
Hello,
New recordist and user to the group here - i plan to have a go at building =
my first DIY microphone. Ideally i would of liked to have used primo em172 =
capsules but i have to be realistic, with no soldering experience and at =
=A310 per capsule it could end up being quite expensive if i make a mistake=
. So, that leave me with the option of rapid 35-0190 and Panasonic WM-61A c=
apsules. I know both of these are less than ideal for nature recording but =
hopefully one or the other should provide a good stating point and offer me=
the ability to gain some hands on soldering experience.
The Rapid 35-0190 when bough in bulk of x 25 cost around =A317 delivered - =
while the Panasonic WM-61A for x 4 cost around =A313.50 delivered.
>From what i can tell the Panasonic WM-61A is better speced than the Rapid 3=
5-0190 but then the Rapid 35-0190 seems to be far better value for money. I=
m currently leaning more towards the Rapid 35-0190 purely down to value/pri=
ce is there any reason why i should go with the Panasonic WM-61A instead? -=
i know both will produce hiss / self noise but just how different are thes=
e capsules in real world use, are there any direct audio comparisons i can =
listen to or nature / field recordings so i can get a better picture on wha=
t these capsules sound like.
Thanks for reading.
