Hi Robin,
I did not mean compression, I meant filtering. That is, before any MP3 comp=
ression, treatment of the 16bit or 24bit WAV file by rolling off the high f=
requencies using a parametric equalizer to attenuate the complex content ne=
ar the anticipated MP3 cutoff frequency. Or is that what you mean by compre=
ssion?

MP3 seems so abrupt where it cuts off, that I assume a tailored gentle roll=
 off must sound better. I base this on assumptions, so that is why I ask.
