If you want a multi channel device and budget matters anyhow, the Tascam DR=
-680 could be worth a try.

I had looked at some of Sound Devices equipment along with some others. I w=
as looking at 4 channels but not sure about size and extra 4 mics given tha=
t I usually am carrying 2 or three cameras, a couple of tripods and associa=
ted kit plus hide etc. as well as on occasion a small crane. The idea of so=
mething like the H2n was a 'one small kit fix' if it is up to the job both =
in specification and build. Like I say whatever I end up with all it's roll=
 will be is to do the ambient soundscape, not the main focal sounds.

Non the less Gianni, I am open to suggestions and will always try to work s=
omething out if my options are limited. Thanks for your input and taking th=
e time to reply.
