Generally, it's best to reserve filtering decisions for later, but field co=
nditions may require using high-pass on location to prevent overloads from =
wind or the environment (beach, or on a train or airplane). That's why they=
're there, so you can still record under difficult circumstances. Where the=
LF noise is high it may be better to use the high-pass switches on the mic=
s first; that will prevent overloading the mic preamps.
