DPA 4060s, blimps and wind noise

Is there a way of mounting a pair of DPA 4060s in a Rycote (or similar) bli=
mp to try to keep wind noise down to a minimum? At the moment I have a coup=
le of Rycote blimps: one for a ME66; and the other for a MKH-418S. I use th=
e DPAs with some Rycote fluffies on a wire coat hanger, Chris Watson style,=
but I'd like to find a better way of suppressing the wind roar. And also m=
aking it easier to attach the mikes to a stand for remote monitoring.

I'm using a Nagra LB, which has a switchable low cut filter. I've never tri=
ed using this as I thought, in my innocence, that getting the full band wid=
th available was the right thing to do and then using software to sort thin=
gs out afterwards (Apple Soundtrack Pro or Reaper).

Is it better to use the electronic filter or trust to the software?

Thanks

Nick
