I too have the DR-680 and I would get one again, if I didn't have the budge=
t for the sound devices 788t ssd.
I do find th AA battery power a little clunky and would prefer a lion batt =
option instead.
I bout it for the inputs too but didn't realise it was B format compatible!
I am using mine almost daily with either two or three mics at the same time=
..
