xeno-canto developments

hello all,

some recent developments on xeno-canto:

- we've started to incorporate about 10000 recordings from the Colecci=F3n =
de Sonidos Ambientales of the Instituto Humboldt in Colombia. The first 800=
 or so are here:http://www.xeno-canto.org/recordist.php?id=3DXMFDPACYJN . N=
eedless to say we are *mighty pleased* the Instituto Humboldt chose xeno-ca=
nto to open up their collection. And of course, this will also fill many ga=
ps in the XC collection.

- we've reinstated the translation of xeno-canto into other languages. The =
system we used in the old days broke down, and we switched to a more robust=
method. In just two weeks users have translated the site into Nederlands, =
Polski, Norsk, Fran=E7ais and Espa=F1ol. Portugu=EAs and Svenska are in pro=
gress. If you miss a language and can help out, or know someone who might w=
ant to, drop us a line!

As ever, you are all invited to contribute with recordings, comments etc.

Willem-Pier
