Hi Klas,

Have you measured the EIN for this preamp?

Also, if plugging this into the microphone input on the recorder, due to la=
ck of line input, how does one then figure in the noise being contributed b=
y the recorder preamp? Is it as simple as reducing the recorder gain, and t=
herefore the recorder EIN, by the amount of gain from your preamp?

For example, if your H4n has an EIN of -107 (at full gain), and adding your=
preamp to the chain allows you to reduce the gain on the H4n by 35 dB, doe=
s that mean the EIN of the H4n has now been reduced to -142 dB? I'm really =
not sure I am understanding this correctly!

I'm assuming this preamp is mostly useful for recorders that have preamp no=
ise somewhat higher than about -116 dBu or so. Is that correct?

many thanks,

John
