Hi Mark,

I'm using simple PVC tubes to protect my (ultrasound) electret and condense=
r microphones against direct rain. This works pretty well as it protects bo=
th the microphone as well as the cable connection:

I'm currently running a long term test of such a setup in my backyard since=
last summer. I still could not detect any whether-rated problems even if t=
he microphones were temporarily fully covered with snow. I believe that the=
moisture that can possibly enter the cable is not a big issue due to the l=
ow output impedance of the microphones, which is much lower than that of wa=
ter.

Regards,
Raimund
