I think there are inexpensive components that do DC to DC constant
voltage today. You'd probably want to start with with 6 or 7.2 volts.
The component could be in the cable to connect to sleds of 5-D size,
C size, or AA size batteries depending on your needs.
Can anyone sketch-up a battery-powered, constant 5DVC circuit for us
or am I wrong about such components? Rob D.
