Hi All,
After some digging it seems like OSX can have problems reading creation dat=
es from FAT32 volumes. It doesn't effect effect all FAT32 volumes - I get =
correct creation date display on files created by my HDP2 for example. Vick=
i seems to have problems with files created on both her recorders. One dif=
ference is that I'm using firewire and Vicki is using a USB Card reader, an=
d most of the reports seem to relate to USB sticks and card readers. I won=
der if this makes any difference - logically it shouldn't but you never kno=
w!
I've discovered using the command line tool ditto to copy the files results=
in the correct creation date showing on the copied file. Not great but at =
least provides a work around.
cheers
Paul

creation and modification dates. 1/1/1904 is a default used when OSX does=
n't find a creation date associated with the file. Can you check the files=
on the original media and see if there is a creation date displayed?
