Thanks Scott! The honesty is appreciated, and the invectives will bring a
smile to my face, also good! :^)

I think I am heading towards the AT4022-I wonder, should I hold on to the
MXL 990s and 991s for loud situations, like thunder, crashing waterfalls,
loud concert situations? (Can't think of many in my world as I am classical
musician, but I could imagine loud percussion or Spanish bagpipe bands on
the traditional music end.)

Cheers,

Vlad

<<Pair of AKG C 1000 cardioids>>

If you want to see a colorful barrage of earthy invectives, simply go
to any pro audio forum & ask for opinions about the AKG C1000. It is
far & away the most reviled microphone in the business. Since this is
a polite & well moderated group I will just state that the C1000 is a
piece of junk & should absolutely be avoided. 'Nuff said.
