Mono recording piles everything together, and some sounds obscure others. T=
hat is not how humans hear--we hear in three dimensions. Recordings in ster=
eo (or more channels) give you a panorama of the soundscape that's not only=
 more pleasing to the ear, it's more useful for analyzing the environment b=
ecause there's much less overlap of sounds from different directions.
