I think the NT4 via battery maybe nosier than via phantom. - Im not sure w= hen using battery power if the Rode mics are unbalanced? Not quite related... Cautionary tale: Watch the headphone level with the FR2-LE, I recenty popped the left speake= r element of my Sennheiser HD280 headphones. I move an NT1A around while it= was still on- I guess the lows were *really* low... pop went the speaker..= . FR2-LE is fine, interesting it allowed such a high level to the headphone= to destroy them. -Mike.
