Hi John--
I'm not sure whether the exact, same 702 switch-over problem occurs
with the 722, but Rich Peet has solved the switch-over/bounce back
issue for the 722 using a Steca Solsum charge controller. Simple $30
box I think. You can find Rich's email address in the archive. His
discussion with SD tech is here:

I've been using high-capacity batteries so I'm not sure whether my
744T has developed this particular problem since the hardware upgrade
or not. It never had the problem before the upgrade but I've had a
couple of hangs that might have occurred at switch-over after the
upgrade.

Maybe we can get Rich to draw-up a wiring plan and set-up
instructions for the Steca to make available. I took another look at
the SD forum tonight and didn't see updates after Rich's suggestions.
